From Clay to Community

My very first blog- Hi!

I wanted to dedicate this one to my students and to the experience of teaching.

When I first started, I never imagined how much it would give back to me. What began as doing someone a favour has grown into something so much richer, a career, a space filled with care, curiosity and the kind of quiet focus that only happens when people are fully present and creating together.

These past months, I’ve been reflecting on how creativity flows between people, how it softens us, connects us and reminds us that we’re all artists in our own way. Whether it’s through shaping clay, painting, gardening, or simply noticing the world around us; that creative spark lives inside everyone.

Watching my students find their rhythm, seeing hands move confidently through clay and hearing the joy in their voices when a piece comes out of the kiln, it’s honestly one of my favourite things about being alive. You’ve all brought such kindness, patience and authenticity to the studio and together we’ve built something that feels truly special.

Thank you for showing up, for trusting me and for creating this community alongside me. It’s a reminder that art isn’t just about objects, it’s about energy, presence and the connections we form along the way.

Here’s to more making, more sharing and more moments that remind us what it means to be human.

With love,
